Bali’s Sarong Restaurant Best Restaurants
Bali Sarong Restaurant in Petitenget has placed 47th in
the latest compilation of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants compiled by S. Pellegrino
andAcquaPann.
That list saw Japan predominate in the rankings with 10
among the top 50. Singapore and Hong Kong each garnered 8 restaurants in the
list and Mainland China secured 7 places. Indonesia earned only a single slot
of the list of Asia's best eateries.
Commenting on the honor of being named to the top 50
restaurants in Asia, Sarong’s founding executive chef Will Meyrick said:
“Sarong has always been our flagship restaurant. I glad our passion and efforts
have brought such great results.”
Street food recipes for across Indonesia and other Asian
countries inspire Meyrick’s style of cooking that is perfected by in-depth
research accumulated during countless visits across the region.
“I hope this will open a gate for Indonesia’s hospitalityindustry to take its place in the limelight,” he added.
The award was presented by William Reed Business Media on
February 24, 2014 in at the Capella Hotel in Singapore.
Named as Asia’s best restaurant was Nahm in Bangkok.
